Please read these Terms of Use (“Terms”) carefully. By accessing or using aslunify.com (the “Site”), you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Site.
1. About Us
ASL Unify, LLC (“ASL Unify,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is a limited liability company that provides American Sign Language (ASL) interpreting services for live events, corporate meetings, healthcare, education, legal and government proceedings, sports, entertainment, conferences, community settings, and Video Remote Interpreting (VRI) across the United States. We place qualified contract interpreters on assignment for our clients.
2. Scope of These Terms
These Terms govern your use of the Site only. They do not by themselves create a contract for interpreting services. Interpreting services are provided under a separate written service agreement, quote, statement of work, or purchase order between ASL Unify and the client. If there is a conflict between these Terms and a signed service agreement, the signed service agreement controls as to the services.
3. Requests Are Not Confirmed Bookings
Submitting a contact form, interpreter request, or inquiry through the Site is a request only. No assignment is booked and no interpreter is reserved until ASL Unify confirms it in writing, including the date, time, duration, location or platform, rate, and cancellation terms. Interpreter availability is not guaranteed, and specialized assignments — legal, medical, trilingual, DeafBlind, tactile, CDI, and platform or stage work — may require additional lead time.
4. Permitted Use
You may use the Site for lawful purposes related to learning about, requesting, or providing interpreting services. You agree not to:
• use the Site in violation of any law or regulation;
• submit false, misleading, or fraudulent information, or impersonate another person or organization;
• upload or transmit malware, viruses, or harmful code;
• attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Site, our systems, or another user’s data;
• probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Site, or bypass any security or access control;
• use automated means to harvest content, contact information, interpreter listings, or rate information;
• copy, reproduce, republish, or redistribute Site content except as permitted in Section 6;
• use the Site or our content to build or train a competing service, database, or machine-learning model without our written permission;
• interfere with the operation of the Site or place unreasonable load on our infrastructure; or
• use the Site to send unsolicited commercial messages.
We may suspend or terminate access to the Site for any violation of these Terms.
5. Interpreter Applicants
If you submit an application, résumé, credentials, or availability through the Site, you represent that all information you provide is accurate and current, that you hold the certifications and licenses you claim, and that you are legally authorized to work in the United States. Submitting an application does not create an employment relationship, an independent contractor relationship, an offer, or any guarantee of assignments. Any engagement is subject to our vetting process and a separate written independent contractor agreement.
6. Intellectual Property
All content on the Site — including text, graphics, logos, images, page layout, design, video, and software — is owned by ASL Unify or its licensors and is protected by U.S. and international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. “ASL Unify” and our logo are our trademarks and may not be used without our prior written consent.
You may view, download, and print Site content for your own internal, non-commercial evaluation of our services, provided you do not remove any copyright or proprietary notices. All other rights are reserved.
7. Your Submissions
You are responsible for any information you submit. Do not submit confidential, privileged, or protected health information through the Site’s public forms; use a secure channel or an executed confidentiality or business associate agreement instead. Except for personal information, which is governed by our Privacy Policy, and except for information covered by a signed confidentiality agreement, you grant ASL Unify a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use submissions you send us for the purpose of responding to you and operating our business. Unsolicited ideas, suggestions, or feedback about our services are provided without obligation of confidentiality or compensation.
8. No Professional Advice
Information on the Site — including material about the ADA, Section 504, Section 1557, IDEA, effective communication, or interpreting standards — is general information only. It is not legal, medical, or compliance advice, and it does not create an attorney-client or provider-patient relationship. You are responsible for determining your own legal obligations and should consult qualified counsel.
9. Interpreting Standards and Client Responsibilities
ASL Unify selects interpreters based on the information the client provides. Effective interpreting depends on the accuracy and completeness of that information. Clients are responsible for supplying assignment details in advance — including subject matter, preparation materials, participant communication preferences, number of Deaf and hearing participants, expected duration, and any sightlines, lighting, staging, platform, or connectivity requirements. Assignments over roughly two hours, or that are continuous or highly technical, generally require a team of two or more interpreters consistent with professional standards.
For VRI assignments, the client is responsible for the meeting platform, adequate bandwidth, camera framing, lighting, and audio quality at the client’s location. ASL Unify is not responsible for service failures caused by the client’s network, hardware, or third-party platform.
10. Third-Party Services and Links
The Site may contain links to third-party websites and may use third-party services for hosting, scheduling, analytics, video conferencing, and payments. We do not control and are not responsible for third-party content, services, or practices. Links are provided for convenience and are not endorsements.
11. Site Availability
We provide the Site on an “as available” basis. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Site at any time without notice, and we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.
12. Disclaimer of Warranties
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE SITE AND ITS CONTENT ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND ACCURACY. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SITE WILL BE SECURE, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF VIRUSES, OR THAT SITE CONTENT IS CURRENT OR COMPLETE.
This section limits warranties regarding the Site. Warranties regarding interpreting services are addressed in the applicable written service agreement.
13. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, ASL UNIFY, LLC AND ITS MEMBERS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, CONTRACTORS, AND AGENTS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, LOST REVENUE, LOST DATA, OR BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO YOUR USE OF THE SITE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SITE WILL NOT EXCEED ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS (US $100). Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so portions of this section may not apply to you.
14. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless ASL Unify, LLC and its members, officers, employees, contractors, and agents from any claims, damages, liabilities, losses, and expenses, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, arising out of your use of the Site, your submissions, or your breach of these Terms.
15. Privacy
Your use of the Site is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
16. Accessibility
ASL Unify is committed to making the Site accessible and aims to conform to WCAG 2.1 Level AA. Please see our Accessibility & ADA Statement for details and for how to report a barrier or request content in an alternate format, including ASL video.
17. Governing Law and Venue
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute arising out of or relating to the Site or these Terms will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Los Angeles County, California, and you consent to personal jurisdiction and venue in those courts. Nothing in this section limits either party’s right to seek injunctive relief to protect intellectual property or confidential information.
18. Dispute Resolution
Before filing any claim, you agree to notify us in writing atinfo@aslunify.com and to attempt in good faith to resolve the dispute informally for at least thirty (30) days. If a signed service agreement between you and ASL Unify contains an arbitration or dispute-resolution provision, that provision governs disputes about the services.
19. Changes to These Terms
We may revise these Terms at any time by posting an updated version with a new “Last Updated” date. Material changes will be noted on the Site. Your continued use of the Site after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
20. Miscellaneous
Severability. If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force.
No waiver. Our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of it.
Assignment. You may not assign these Terms without our written consent; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
Entire agreement. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and ASL Unify regarding the Site. Headings. Headings are for convenience only and do not affect interpretation.
