Accessibility & ADA Statement

ASL Unify, LLC
Effective Date: August 26, 2026
Last Updated: August 26, 2026

Our Commitment
Accessibility is not a feature of our business — it is our business. ASL Unify, LLC provides American Sign Language (ASL) interpreting services for live events, corporate meetings, healthcare, education, legal and government proceedings, sports, entertainment, conferences, community settings, and Video Remote Interpreting (VRI) across the United States. We exist to remove communication barriers for Deaf, DeafBlind, and hard-of-hearing people. We hold
aslunify.com to the same standard we ask of our clients. We are committed to making our website usable by everyone, regardless of ability, device, or assistive technology.

Conformance Standard
ASL Unify aims to conform to the
Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). WCAG 2.1 AA is the standard referenced by the U.S. Department of Justice in Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) enforcement and by Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act. We treat conformance as ongoing work rather than a one-time certification. Our current status is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA, meaning most of the site meets the standard while some content may not yet fully conform. Where we identify gaps, we remediate them and provide an accessible alternative in the meantime.

Measures We Take
To support accessibility, ASL Unify:
•  designs and builds the site with semantic HTML structure, proper heading order, and descriptive page titles;
•  provides meaningful alternative text for images and avoids conveying information through images of text;
•  maintains color-contrast ratios that meet or exceed WCAG 2.1 AA minimums;
•  supports full keyboard navigation with visible focus indicators and skip-to-content links;
•  labels all form fields, groups related inputs, and presents form errors in text with clear correction guidance;
•  avoids content that flashes, auto-plays, or moves without user control;
•  provides captions for video content and transcripts where appropriate;
•  uses responsive layouts that remain usable at 200% zoom and on mobile devices;
•  tests with screen readers and keyboard-only navigation as part of our release process; and
•  includes accessibility in the scope of work for our designers and developers.

Compatibility
The site is designed to work with current versions of major browsers (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge) on desktop and mobile, in combination with common assistive technologies including JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver, TalkBack, screen magnification, and speech-recognition software. The site may not perform as expected on browsers older than three major versions.

Known Limitations
Despite our efforts, some limitations may exist. These may include:
•  Third-party content and embeds. Scheduling widgets, video players, maps, analytics tools, and social media embeds are controlled by outside vendors and may not fully conform. We select accessible vendors where possible and provide direct alternatives — including phone and email booking — when a third-party tool creates a barrier.
•  Legacy documents. Some older PDFs or attachments may not be fully tagged for screen readers. We will provide an accessible version on request.
•  User-generated or newly published content. Newly posted material may briefly lack captions or alternative text while it is being reviewed.

ASL and Deaf-Centered Communication
We recognize that written English is a second language for many Deaf people whose primary language is ASL. Accordingly:

•  We welcome inquiries in ASL by video message or video call.
•  You may reach us in the manner most accessible to you — email, text, video relay service (VRS), or ASL video.
•  We are working to add ASL video content to key pages of the site.
•  Our team is Deaf-aware, and we do not require you to use spoken English to do business with us.

ADA and Legal Framework
ASL Unify supports and operates in accordance with:
•  the
Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990, as amended — including Title II (state and local government) and Title III (places of public accommodation) obligations to provide qualified interpreters and effective communication;
•
Section 504 and Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973;
•  the
Affordable Care Act, Section 1557, governing language access and effective communication in healthcare;
•  the
Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA);
•  the
21st Century Communications and Video Accessibility Act (CVAA); and
•  the
California Unruh Civil Rights Act and the California Disabled Persons Act.

We help clients meet their own effective-communication obligations by supplying qualified, credentialed interpreters. Nothing in this statement constitutes legal advice regarding your organization’s compliance obligations.
